2018 has been spectacular in terms of dividends. The biggest surprise was my Roth IRA. This was my first year investing in Roth IRA. One of the funds I chose was Vanguard Wellington Fund (VWELX). It’s an actively managed fund with exposure to stocks and bonds and hence well suited for IRA. VWELX had a huge distribution in Q4 and bumped up my overall IRA dividends for the year (18.25%). I ended up with $1,560.84 in dividends for 2018. That's a 169.79% increase in dividend as compared to 2017.

2017 in Retrospect (Goals Review) & 2018 Goals
2017 has come to an end. I feel like it was almost yesterday when I started dividend investing. Cannot believe it's been three years. In 2017 I have been very consistent with my investment (fresh capital infusion). The only reduction in portfolio happened in June 2017. I had to liquidate a portion of my portfolio for down payment (for my new home).

2016 dividend updates
I am glad to have grown my dividends by 10.6% from last year (I am still shocked!). I was doing very well with investing till Q2. Q2 was my by best. After that I had to sell few of my positions to meet some commitments. Q3 I could not contribute much. Q4 I was more or less back to my regular investment level (although not as good as Q2). Without Q2 I would not have beaten my 2015 dividends. I am looking forward to 2017 Q1. How do you guys investment and still meet life commitments?
