One way to identify dividend growth stocks is to look for dividend increases. Companies that pay rising dividends are likely to be financially healthy, generate consistent cash flow and regular dividend. Tax-loss harvesting

Image
Tax-loss harvesting is a process selling equities (stocks, ETFs and mutual funds) at a loss to get tax benefits. This might sound counterintuitive. Why would you sell at a loss? The idea is to sell the equity to realize a loss and then buy back the equity at reduced a price. Effectively, realize a loss without any change in portfolio. In a way this can be considered as an indirect income. Interested?

February 2018 : Investment Portfolio Status

Image
February is almost over and it’s time for my monthly status update. Volatility has been the main story of this month. S&P 500 dropped 11.49% to a low of 2,542.92. It has recovered some of the losses and is only down 5.54% from the beginning of the month. It’s offered us a rare opportunity to buy stocks at a discount. Unfortunately, I was unable to add more during this downturn (due to lack of capital).
